Master Dennis Chambers
Chief Executive Officer &
Lead Martial Artist
Master Dennis is an 8th degree black belt with over 30 years of experience in numerous martial arts styles who has served over 1,000 students utilizing Zen’s principles. He has two Masters degrees and an ED.d from Columbia University’s Teachers College, where he focused on the nature of learning and development. In 2004, he and his wife Sharon Chambers were inspired to start their own Tae Kwon Do studio, Zen Masters, in St. Albans, Queens. Outside of martial arts he hosts classes on conflict resolution and seminars on parenting.

Mrs. Chambers oversees the business operations of the school as ZMI Foundation’s Executive Director. She has a seasoned background in Business Management with Fortune 500 corporations. She earned her Masters at Teachers College, Columbia University in Social Organizational Psychology, and has a passion for business development. One of her passions lay in the hiring and staff development of college and high school students city-wide. In 2012, Mrs. Chambers led the spin-off of Zen Masters and formed ZMI Foundation, a nonprofit organization, and has been committed to its growth and expansion ever since.
Katryn Ganpat
Assistant Manager / Instructor
Ms. Ganpat started at Zen Masters, Inc. in 2005, since then she’s grown to be an essential part of the organization. Ms. Ganpat plays a hybrid role, vital to the office operations and the dojang (Tae Kwon Do training space). As Assistant Manager she maintains organization in the office, aids Director Chambers, and helps manage personnel. As a Martial Arts Instructor she teaches young newcomers during the After School Program. She prides herself on the personal connection she makes with children and families, and values everything she’s learned under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Chambers.
